As the captain of his nation, he shared love to international teammate Julian Alvarez, who he voted third in the running. One and two, however, were a different story.

Former teammate of Messi's at PSG, Kylian Mbappe, was given the nod at number two — but the individual he voted for to win the award was none other than Alvarez's teammate, Erling Haaland. The Norwegian goal machine won the treble in 2023, claiming the Premier League title, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League.
This was Messi's third time winning the award, with him also claiming the prize in both 2019 and 2022.
The Argentine and Inter Miami are back in action on January 19, when they take on the El Salvador national team in a preseason friendly.
